LINDSEY TOM

Otis College of Art & Design
BFA, Graphic Design
I am a Graphic Designer with a passion for books. My goal is to one day have my own library of books (with a huge section for design) with shelves from floor to ceiling. I have an addiction to soy lattes and boots. Soy lattes, popcorn and music are a huge part of my design process. Okay, maybe not huge...but important.
I am always open to new opportunities, so if you would like to contact me, feel free to email me at: latom.design@gmail.com.

Julep is a display face designed with invitations, menus and signage in mind. It is a fresh, sweet typeface that can be used for many occasions. The poster displays the different sizes and settings that Julep can be used for. It also includes a full character set of uppercase and lowercase, as well as punctuation and numerals.

I recently designed the March 2011 calendar for the Otis AIGA student chapter. Something fun and light because Spring is coming!

I haven’t posted recent work in a while….so here you go. This is a zine called Mine and it’s inspired by the Windows 95 time zone debacle with India and also with Peru and Ecuador. This publication is meant to inform and question the accuracy and “truth” in maps. It is also in support of a more accurate form of mapping - the dymaxion map. The dymaxion map was introduced by Buckminster Fuller - who was a pretty awesome, ahead-of-his-time kind of guy.

selfPORTRAIT//photoCOPIER
This was a quick 2 hour exploration of the photocopier used as the principle method of making. A series of 10 images pertaining to the part of my identity that is created through decoration (jewelry/accessories/etc.) that I wear on a daily basis.

You must click on the image in order for the animated gif to scroll through. I will edit this at a later date…
